Things to do in Calgary for those Enjoying the Finer Things in Life

Calgary is the perfect town for all ages and different types of personalities. There is something for everyone to enjoy from shopping and dining to outdoor recreation. For those that love a night on the town enjoying the finer things in life, Calgary’s got you covered.

Being the largest city in Alberta, it’s grown into a hugely successful business and agricultural region with some of the sunniest climates in the country.  It’s full of summertime festivals, it offers winter sport opportunities make it the perfect getaway for the traveller while also accommodating as a business destination. If you’re looking for some of the top attractions in the city to whisk you away to pure luxury, here are the places to see, dine and stay.

Calgary Zoo

Start at the Calgary Zoo which was recently renovated to feature a Prehistoric Park with life-size animatronic dinosaur models. The Penguin Plunge features a daily Penguin Walk where the penguins are allowed out of their enclosure for ten minutes outside where guests can get a better look at the little guys. The botanical garden is a must-see with beautiful plants, a butterfly garden and interactive exhibitions.

Catch

Grab a bite to eat at Catch just a block from the beautiful Hotel Le Germain. It’s a seafood restaurant featuring an urban industrial atmosphere. Downstairs is the delicious Oyster Bar and upstairs is the upscale dining featuring lobster meat, wild race and kale.

Stay for a night at the beautiful Hotel Le Germain downtown under the Calgary Tower. It’s a luxury boutique hotel with modern décor and a great staff. They have big soaking tubs, pleasant surprises and an excellent spa to check out while you’re there.

Don’t forget to check out the observation deck at the Calgary Tower, ride the longest luge in the world from Calgary Skyline Luge, zipline at Canada Olympic Park and explore the Telus Spark Science Center.
