Restaurant Spotlight: Workshop Kitchen + Culture

More than just a place to eat, Workshop Kitchen + Culture believes it's a movement. It's found in the Theatre Junction Grand building and too the name of the original Workshop 14 from the theatre. The restaurant believes it's a place for personalities to converge and enjoy plenty of fun with food and drinks.

It's a gathering place for socialites, intellectuals, geeks, foodies, average joes, artists, performers and all other types of people. When you dine at Workshop, here's what you can expect.

The Menu

The menu provides many very interesting dishes you won't find anywhere else. Some of the favourites include:

  • Apple and Kale Salad
  • Palm Sugar Cured Steelhead Trout
  • Lamb Shoulder Melt
  • Striploin Steak and Greens
  • Polenta Lasagna
  • Maple and Soy Marinated Ling Cod
  • Seared Arctic Char
  • Workshop Ciopinno
  • Bone in Aged Ribeye
  • Potato Gnocchi
  • Roasted Organic Chicken
  • And More!

They also offer The Lougheed Lunch, which includes a started, main course, dessert and beverage. Two Workshop Improv options are also available for dinner with a three-Couse option and a five-course option. These are kitchen-inspired tasting menus and change daily.

If you want to try something sweet, they offer the Espresso Cardamom Crème Brulee, Caramel Apple Tarte Tatin, Honey Ricotta Mousse and a Workshop Improv Dessert.

Of course, you can pair your meal with a glass of wine, a coffee drink, plenty of beer choices, many different cocktails and many other beverage options.

Recently, the restaurant announced they will be serving midnight brunch very soon!

Location and Hours

Workshop Kitchen + Culture is found at 608 - 1 Street SW in the Downtown Cultural District in Calgary. It's located in the Theatre Grand. They are open for lunch, Monday through Friday, for dinner, Monday through Saturday and for Late Night Thursday through Saturday.
