Gaucho Brazilian Barbeque is the place to go in Calgary for authentic Brazilian cuisine. It’s a meat-lovers paradise where you’ll experience the Brazilian churrascaria of huge skewers full of BBQ meats brought to your table. It’s located right off the busy McLeod Trail in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Canmore.

What to expect

You can reach the restaurant from the Chinook Station C-train if you walk west towards Chinook Centre on 61st Avenue and turn north on McLeod Trail for one block. They have street parking and a parking lot for those that drive and take reservations or walk-ins. It’s kid-friendly and can accommodate groups or take-out orders. They serve lunch, dinner and drinks.

Your Brazilian meal will be a unique experience so be sure to allow enough time for a few hours of the experience. You’ll have a card to turn green or red depending on if you want more food brought to your table or not.

Your barbeque chef will bring around massive churrasco-style skewers with a tender cut-of-the-day meat that is sliced straight to your plate. Enjoy the side and salad bar as part of the Rodizio & Plates Service. It features hot dishes, salad and seasonal options.

For dessert, enjoy churros, a sweet pastry rolled in sugar and cinnamon served with warm chocolate sauce, the torta de chocolate or the mousse de maracuja. There are teas, specialty coffees, cocktails like the batida and caipirinha or enjoy a cold beer.
